Riders meet each Wednesday evening to ride the Lehigh Portland Trails. The Lehigh trails are predominantly singletrack — a narrow, natural-surface trail through the woods and prairie around the Quarry Lake.
A mountain bike is recommended, though hybrid bikes or cyclocross bikes will also work. Most of the trails are smooth and flowing, though there are a few areas that are more challenging, and that will help you to improve your bike-handling skills.
This is an easy-paced, beginner-friendly, no-drop ride. All ages and experience levels are welcome. If you’ve not ridden a real mountain bike trail before, no worries! We take our time and enjoy the beautiful scenery, with frequent breaks and regroups.
The ride begins at 6:00pm from the East Trailhead (1600th and Nebraska Road). A helmet is highly recommended, as are appropriate clothing and gear for the season (i.e. bug spray and sunscreen during the warmer months). Be sure to bring water and a snack. A spare tube and/or a patch kit is highly recommended.
