Through three months of the 2016 National Bike Challenge, Allen County cyclists have racked up over 9200 miles, and ranks #7 in the nation among Advocacy Challenges.

Here’s a map of where National Bike Challenge Strava users have ridden so far:

If you’d like to see your rides appear on this map, all you need to do is connect your National Bike Challenge account to your Strava account:

  1. Log in at nationalbikechallenge.org
  2. Click on “Manage Settings”
  3. Scroll down to the “Authorized Apps” section
  4. Click “Authorize” next to the Strava logo
  5. Log in at Strava and give permission to the NBC to access your Strava data

That’s all there is to it! From now on, your Strava rides will be automatically synced to the National Bike Challenge. Be sure to log in to the National Bike Challenge periodically to make sure it’s still syncing.

If you need a Strava account, go to strava.com and get set up. It’s free, and it’s a great way to not only keep track of your own rides, but to share them with your friends and be inspired by each other’s accomplishments. You can log your miles on Strava via smartphone (Android or iOS) or Garmin devices. And don’t forget to join the Bike Allen County Strava Club.

The Prairie Spirit Trail, Mo-Pac Trail, Southwind Rail Trail, and Lehigh Portland Trails see a lot of action, as do many local streets and roads. Bikes are everywhere in Iola!

The National Bike Challenge continues through the end of September. Log those miles at nationalbikechallenge.org.
