The 2016 National Bike Challenge has been running for four months, and Allen County cyclists have logged over 18,000 miles. August was a big month, with over 9000 miles!

Nationally, Bike Allen County is #6 in the Advocacy Challenge rankings for the nation.

We had five riders — Randy Rasa, Elizabeth Cox, Jay Kretzmeier, Sandy Zornes, and Terry Zornes — who rode every day during the month of August!

Among Allen County communities, here’s where we stand so far:

  • Iola: 96 riders, 13,212 miles, #198 in the nation
  • Humboldt: 27 riders, 3858 miles, #933 in the nation
  • La Harpe: 1 rider, 974 miles, #2,420 in the nation
  • Moran: 3 riders, 0 miles
  • Elsmore: 0 riders
  • Gas: 0 riders
  • Savonburg: 0 riders

We have one month left to go in the Challenge. Let’s hit it hard and see where our bikes can take us!

You can log your miles manually at NationalBikeChallenge.org, but we actually recommend that you log your miles with Strava, which is a better way not only to record your own miles, but to share them with your friends and automatically log them to the National Bike Challenge as well. You can log your miles on Strava via smartphone (Android or iOS) or GPS cyclocomputers or fitness devices.
