The Parade of Lights takes place each year as part of the Charley Melvin Mad Bomber Run For Your Life, an annual fun run and race held each summer in Iola, Kansas, to commemorates the 1905 dynamite bombing of three saloons in Iola by a deranged local prohibitionist.
The parade takes place on Saturday July 18th, prior to the 12:26am start of the run, on the square in downtown Iola. The parade is open to anyone who wants to decorate their bike and ride along!
There will be a Mad Bomber Pre-Race Party during the USD 257 free meal on Friday from noon to 1pm at the Little Theatre in Riverside Park. There will be gift cards and glow toys for prizes to help decorate bikes for the Saturday parade.
