The community of Savonburg has a signed trail on city streets. The name pays homage to the ethnic origin of the community’s original settlers. The project is a cooperative venture between the City of Savonburg, Savonburg Pride, and Thrive Allen County, with funding through the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City.
The Savonburg Old Swedish Trail is approximately one mile in length. It begins and ends at the Savonburg Community Center, which offers restrooms and water, as well as Allen County Bike Share bikes.
Note: “Välkommen” is the Swedish word for “welcome”. 🙂
