The new King of Trails Bridge is officially open! A nice crowd attended the ribbon-cutting on Saturday, then took off to explore the trails. Thanks to the City of Iola, Thrive Allen County, the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism, the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City, the Sunflower Foundation, PeopleForBikes, New Belgium Brewing, and thanks to the Iola Register for the photo and front-page story.
The new bike/ped bridge provides a safe and convenient connection between Downtown Iola and the Lehigh Portland Trails, the Southwind Rail Trail, and businesses south of Elm Creek.
