Each year, Allen County bicyclists participate in the annual National Bike Challenge program, which runs from May 1st through September 30th.
Participating in the National Bike Challenge is easy. Just follow these instructions to get signed up and start logging your miles. You can use a smartphone, a GPS cyclocomputer, or simply log your miles manually.
Our History in the National Bike Challenge
Allen County has been participating in the National Bike Challenge since 2014, and we have built quite a reputation:
- In 2014 we ranked #3 in the entire nation
- In 2015, 113 riders racked up 28,664 miles
- In 2016, our local challenge ranked #6 in the nation, and in tops in Kansas
We take great pride in being one of the biking-est counties in the nation!
Ride to Work, Ride to Play, Ride Tomorrow, Ride Today!
The whole point of this program is to get more people riding bikes, because we believe that people who ride bikes are happy, healthy, and fit, and communities where people ride bikes are great places to live and to visit.
If you’ve not already done so, get yourself signed up at NationalBikeChallenge.org, start riding, and start logging those miles. Whether you ride for fun, for exercise, or for transportation, every mile counts!
